Snip

We took David to Kids' Hair for his first haircut today. Adam needed a trim at 14 weeks; his stick-straight hair grew directly into his eyes. But David's hair is a bit wavy, and not quite as thick as Adam's, and so we put off the first snip until ten days shy of his first birthday. His hair was long enough to get in his eyes and ears and it tangled in back. The stylist gave him a classic boy cut and it looks adorable, but when I went to tuck him into bed tonight, I hardly recognized that neat little head. He looks older now, and my baby is rapidly losing his babyness. He is trying to crawl and to talk and is losing interest in nursing, baby toys and other under-1 pursuits. That means I am moving along, too, and saying goodbye to babyhood, at least in this household. Snip.
